Manic Street Preachers Announce Australian Shows, June/July 2013

Hailed as saviours of the British rock scene, Manic Street Preachers are once again making some noise with news that they will be heading Down Under for two huge shows to coincide with the British and Irish Lions rugby tour of Australia.

Though this is the first time the teams have been here in a decade, it hasn’t been such a delay for fans of Manic Street Preachers. The avid rugby fans were here back in 2010 but that doesn’t take any impact away from the shows in Melbourne and Sydney announced today. The band has been a red-hot crowd favourite here since their 1997 hit Australia, which fused their love for the land Down Under and footy.

Combining musical integrity with their outspoken views, leftist leanings and self-consciously dangerous image, the band is sure to have some serious pulling power and, with only two dates on the tour, you’re gonna want to be quick. Further strengthening the demand is local supports Hungry Kids Of Hungary, who are as buzzworthy as ever right now.

The tour hits Melbourne and Sydney. Tickets details are below.
