MEGADETH: BEHIND THE MASK
No word yet on whether Australia is officially on the cinema list – but fans can hit megadethfilm.com to sign up for updates.
In Behind The Mask, Dave Mustaine promises to take fans through 40 years of Megadeth history, spilling untold stories, reflecting on the band’s influence, and breaking down every track on the final LP. The film mixes archival gems, fresh interview footage and a full play-through of the record – so basically, it’s the closest thing to sitting on the studio floor with Mustaine while he narrates his own legacy.
“This listening event is going to be amazing,” Mustaine says. “I can’t wait to share it with thousands of my closest friends around the world… Now let’s fire this up… and pass the popcorn!”
Trafalgar Releasing’s Kymberli Frueh adds: “This isn’t just another Megadeth album – it’s a bold reimagining… a celebration of the riffs, the intensity and the uncompromising spirit that have defined Megadeth’s legacy.”
In the lead-up, the band – now comprising Dave Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari, James LoMenzo and Dirk Verbeuren — have already dropped two new tracks: “I Don’t Care” and “Tipping Point”. They’ve also confirmed a bonus track: a reimagined version of “Ride The Lightning,” which Mustaine originally co-wrote with Metallica back in ’84. (Yep, really).
