Molly Meldrum’s manager Mark Klemens has issued a statement on behalf of Meldrums’ family and friends. Meldrum is undergoing surgery and is in a critical condition after falling from a ladder while hanging Christmas decorations at his home in Melbourne. He has suffered broken ribs, a possible punctured lung and swelling of the brain.
Speaking with the media, Klemens said:
Unfortunately late this afternoon Molly had a fall at home. As a consequence of that fall he suffered significant injuries. I’m a half full person, I’m always preparing for a better outcome.
Molly’s family and friends believe the next 24 hours will be critical for Molly’s recovery.
Earlier in the night an ambulance officer told the Australian:
He fell from a ladder, at some height, he was unconscious when we arrived.
