More Supafest 2013 Venue Problems – Festival No Longer At RNA Showgrounds In Brisbane

After the recent news that Supafest has been kicked out of their previously announced Melbourne venue at Flemington Racecourse, it looks like there’s more venue changes afoot for the troubled festival.

Music Feeds has spoken to a representative at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds who has confirmed that Supafest 2013 will no longer be taking place at that venue. While the booking cancellation may have happened as recently as today, like Flemington Racecourse representatives, RNA were unable to provide information regarding a possible new location nor the reasons for the booking cancellation, only directing us to contact Supafest for more information.

UPDATE: Supafest have released an official statement. Click here for the details.

While information is pretty thin on the ground, it’s backed up by the fact that the Showground’s official website no longer contains any mention of the festival, yet Supafest’s official website still lists the Brisbane venue as RNA Showgrounds. We’ve been unable to contact the Sydney venue, but Perth Arena has confirmed that the show will still be taking place there.

It has been all quiet on the Supafest 4 front until recently, with ticketholders growing restless over poor communication in regards to tickets. Former promoter John Denison has also been stirring the pot in regards to rumours of artist cancellations, telling an inquisitive tweeter to “expect the worse (sic)” in regards to no-shows from NeYo and TI. None of the headlining acts have the Supafest dates listed on their websites.

We have attempted to contact Supafest in relation to these developments but have so far received no response. A short statement on FasterLouder‘s Facebook says that organisers are set to release a statement regarding the Flemington Racecourse venue change soon. Perhaps they’d like to address RNA Showgrounds while they’re at it.
