If you love Warhorse then you will love White Ox with lead singer Jasper Clifford-Smith fronting both bands. Shakin’ Howls are back at MUM after closing out their 2am residency at the end of January.
Artisan Guns are over from New Zealand and they sound nothing like their listed genres on MySpace like heavy metal; they sound more like fucking awesome (insert surprised tone here). Little Lovers are also in the back room with their fast tempo and catchy rock tunes before The Shake Up close the stage at 2am with another set full of more energy than King Khan on a meow meow bender.
Climb up 26 stairs and into the room that was once a brothel many years ago and you will find four more scorching live acts; Where Sooners will surely be testing out some of their newly recorded tracks, The Preachers return to MUM after only a few weeks away; in contrast The Bennisons have their first show at MUM and sound like they would work great as the soundtrack to a Saint Augustine Academy fashion show with their dark sounds; then Anna Chase returns to MUM to keep you warm with her layers of sounds.
MUM always has more bands than anywhere else and we also have more DJs than anybody else too. Bi-monthly residents Walkie Talkie, Animal Chin, Gatsby, 10th Avenue, Jack Shit, Nude DJs, Swim Team DJs, Throwshapes DJs, Bansheee and Kapow will be joined by special guests DJ Meowcat & Bobby Six who are famous for their exploits at Hibernian House.
And stuck in the middle of all the indie chaos is La Discoteca featuring 16 Tacos and one of Sydneys most respected DJ James Taylor (Wham).
Don’t use the cold weather or exams as an excuse cause we’ve got $4.50 Vodkas or VBs all night for students to keep you warm and $8 cocktails from 7pm-9pm.
