This Friday – or tomorrow night as the case maybe – MUM is letting loose with another round of bands to make your toes curl and your hair stand on end.
Popstrangers are over from NZ. They played at MUM in Auckland (yes MUM is in Auckland too) and they were so fine the people at MUM asked them to flip the ditch and come play here in Sydney.
They’ will be supported by The Dead Heads who are playing at MUM and the World Bar to avoid getting slapped with their 23rd noise complaint by their neighbours – I guess the neighbours don’t dig The Vines sound they put out.
Brothers are down from Queensland and they bring with them a lot of hair, a lot of skin, a lot of booze and a lot of party.
Long Island Sound will take you into a lullaby before Leeroy Macqueen & The Gussetstake on round two of their December residency with the most rock n roll performance you’re likely to see until Broken Social Scene come out again.
With 5 bands downstairs you know there will be another 3 bands upstairs;
Fake Wars make the perfect soundtrack for your chilled summer road trip, Tierra Outlaws have been thrashing all and sundry at band comps everywhere and Bare Grillz are down from ‘fuckin’ Newy!’ – nuff said.
And then there are more indie DJs than you’re gonna find anywhere else in Sydney: Walkie Talkie, Animal Chin, Shag, Glen Be Trippin, Kapow, Jack Shit, 10th Avenue, Mush and Robbie B.
MUM Every Friday at The World Bar – Students get FREE entry til 10pm and $10 after plus $4.50 Vodkas or VBs.
Check loveyourmum for vids of the bands, teapot giveaways and other news about MUM. Geddit in ya.
