Muse Drop Australian Tour Bombshell Via Twitter

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has knocked Australia for six with an unexpected reply to a fan question on Twitter, confirming the band will be touring our country in 2013.

Twitter user @joel17williams asked the falsetto-prone singer, “Any idea when you and the robot may come to Australia?” to which Bellamy replied simply, “December,” sending Muse’s huge online fan base into a tizz.

It’s been over 2 years since we last saw Muse on our shores, when they fronted up to the Big Day Out in 2010 and returned later that year for a headline tour, and since the release of their dubstep-tinged album The 2nd Law news of their return has been eagerly monitored.

Whether this strikes the band from the Splendour In The Grass 2013 rumour list is controversial, given their stated form for doubling down on tours, but the dates do seem perilously close to one another so it’s probably a safe bet we won’t be seeing them in July.

There’s no official announcement yet, but hang onto your hats – Muse’s tours are generally gigantic affairs, and when official word breaks, demand will be huge. For now, enjoy Bellamy’s brevity below, and watch this space for the official word!
