The alt-rock world is taking to Twitter today to pay tribute, after the sad news of Deftones‘ bassist Chi Cheng‘s passing emerged. Cheng had been in a vegetative state since a serious car accident in 2008. He had regained slight movement and awareness in the past 4 years, but was taken to the emergency room yesterday where his heart stopped. Cheng was 42.
A host of musicians have offered their condolences and support on social media today, including Slash, My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, Of Mice & Men‘s Aaron Pauley and Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. You can read their tributes below.
