My Chemical Romance’s ‘Danger Days’ Is Finally Getting The Deluxe Treatment It Deserves

The Fabulous Killjoys are officially back online.

After sending the internet into full detective mode with yesterday’s cryptic teaser post, My Chemical Romance have now confirmed exactly what fans suspected: Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is getting the deluxe treatment for its 15th anniversary.

My Chemical Romance – ‘Na Na Na’

Landing July 10 via Reprise Records, the newly announced Danger Days (Deluxe Edition) will feature a remastered version of the band’s beloved 2010 album alongside nine bonus tracks – including a bunch of fan-fave rarities and recordings that have either never appeared on streaming services or never received physical releases before.

And honestly? For longtime Killjoys devotees, this thing looks dangerously collectible.

The announcement follows a wave of speculation sparked by MCR’s teaser post featuring the iconic spider logo wrapped around the Roman numeral XV, which promptly sent emo Twitter, Reddit and TikTok into complete meltdown mode. While some fans were hoping it signalled brand new music or an entirely fresh era, the reveal still marks a huge moment for one of the band’s most fascinating and divisive records.

Because let’s be real: Danger Days was a WILD pivot at the time.

When the album first dropped in 2010, My Chemical Romance traded the gothic funeral-parade theatrics of The Black Parade for neon-drenched dystopian chaos, ray guns, muscle cars and radioactive desert vibes. The reaction back then? Mixed. Confused, even.

But over the years, Danger Days has undergone one hell of a cultural reappraisal – evolving from “the weird colourful MCR album” into a genuine cult classic that arguably influenced an entire generation of alternative pop, emo and hyperpop aesthetics.

And now, fans are finally getting a deeper dive into that universe.

Among the bonus material included on the deluxe edition are tracks like Zero Percent, We Don’t Need Another Song About California, Black Dragon Fighting Society and a BBC Radio 1 version of Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) – alongside live recordings pulled from the band’s 2011 iTunes Festival appearance.

Naturally, MCR are also going all-in on the collector bait. The release will arrive across multiple vinyl variants, including picture disc, zoetrope and coloured pressings, while a special BL/ind tour-exclusive version will be available at select tour dates between July and October.

The announcement lands as the band continue their enormous ongoing Black Parade anniversary run, which resumes next month across the UK and Europe before heading back through North America for a stack of huge arena and stadium dates – including a five-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl (STILL WAITING FOR AUSSIE DATES FYI!!!)

So no, sadly the teaser wasn’t secretly heralding MCR5.

But for the kids who still know every word to Planetary (GO!) and wanted to be Party Poison at least once in their life? This is still a pretty massive deal.
