Sydney indie kids who like to “get drunk, make out and fall over” can do just that at a new regular night launching this Saturday.
Kittens will debut after bands finish playing at Sydney club Spectrum in Oxford St, promising “no wank, no-chin stroking bullshit, just the songs we love to get drunk, and jump around to.”
Promoters are promising tracks from artists who were genre favourites “before dubstep came along, and fucked everything up”.
Amongst the artists set to be featured in the Kittens’ playlist are The Cure, Phoenix, The Strokes, Foster The People, The Kills, The XX, Weezer, The Rapture, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Gossip, Bloc Party, David Bowie, Florence and the Machine, Blue Juice, Mike Snow, Cut Copy, Modest Mouse and Kings Of Leon.
Entry is $10 or $5 with host name at the door. For more info check out the Kittens Facebook page or their blog on Tumblr.
