Iconic Australian artist Nick Cave has announced a 2019 Australian speaking tour, which will see the legendary Bad Seeds frontman speak candidly with audiences and perform some of his most popular songs on piano.
The ‘Conversations With Nick Cave’ tour has already made its way through the US and Ireland, and now it’s finally set to debut down under in January.
Cave will appear at town halls, concert halls and arts centres across Wangaratta, Hobart, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, and will also spend a night in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall along the way.
The shows will be unscripted and unmoderated, as Cave opens up a Q&A directly with fans.
“I thought that a direct conversation with the audience might be valuable – in the recent live shows we have all shown a kind of willingness to open up,” says Cave.
“The audience tends to ask more challenging, revealing, playful and ultimately serious questions. You never know what you are going to get. They can be fearless and they can go deep.”

In August this year, a crowdfunding campaign was launched to raise $250,000 for a long-awaited statue of Nick Cave in his hometown of Warracknabeal in rural Victoria.
