The BDO sideshows have finally been announced and you can be assured of a premium selection of events to attend. Among the standouts of this years sideshows is solo project of former Oasis singer/songwriter Noel Gallagher aptly named ‘Noel Gallagher’s high Flying Birds’
The band originates from Manchester and includes former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, drummer Jeremy Stacey of The Lemon Trees, former bassist for The Zutons Russell Pritchard and percussionist Lenny Castro. They formed in 2010 and are out touring their debut self-titled album.
At a press conference in London on July 6th 2012, Gallagher revealed the side project and spoke in detail about his influences and the songs. His brother Liam Gallagher did not have too much positive feedback to give his sibling.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph last week, Liam said:
It’s [Noels album] all right. I’m glad that people like it, man. He’s got good songs … No balls, though. No attitude. Everyone knows what Noel Gallagher can do, and it’s great, but it’s boring. I’ve heard it all before.
