Olivia Rodrigo brought out Natalie Imbruglia at a recent London show to perform a cover of the latter’s ‘Torn’. The performance took place at London’s Eventim Apollo as part of the US singer’s first tour of the UK.
Footage of the performance sees Rodrigo onstage alongside Imbruglia as the pair belt out the track to an adoring crowd. The performance occurred just two months shy of the 25th anniversary of Imbruglia’s ‘Torn’. The track, a cover of 90s rock band Ednaswap, was Imbruglia’s debut single.

Rodrigo briefly made headlines earlier in the week when she performed an impromptu cover of the track at a Manchester bar, playing alongside a handful of local musicians. “Why yes Olivia Rodrigo, of course you can turn up at Bunny Jacksons on a bloody Sunday evening and play a song for a laugh before our 3rd set,” wrote a Twitter user who was in attendance.
‘Torn’ isn’t the first cover that Rodrigo has performed on her current tour, or even the first performed alongside the artist who made it famous. Her set at London’s Eventim Apollo also included a rendition of Avril Lavigne’s ‘Complicated’, which Rodrigo performed alongside Lavigne in Toronto in April.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo performed Alanis Morissette’s ‘You Oughta Know’ with the Canadian singer in Toronto in May, and just last month, her appearance at Glastonbury saw Rodrigo perform ‘Fuck You’ with Lily Allen. The latter performance also made headlines due to its dedication to the US Supreme Court in the wake of their overturning of Roe v. Wade.
