UPDATE 28/11/19: OneFour Have Now Been Forced To Cancel Their Sydney Show Next Month
OneFour have cancelled the first date of their Aussie tour, scheduled for this evening (Sunday, November 24) at 170 Russell in Melbourne.
The Sydney hip hop outfit were preparing for the opening show of their first ever national tour, but took to Instagram to announce the show won’t go ahead.
“We’re devastated that due to issues beyond our control the Melbourne show has been cancelled at short notice,” reads the post.
They revealed there will be refunds, but the exact reason behind the cancellation was not revealed.
“While there will be full ticket refunds, OneFour and our management are disappointed about the timing of this and the impact it has on our fans.
“We hope to be on stage in Melbourne soon. We’ll keep you updated.”
The promoters of the tour, Live Nation, also released a statement, but didn’t give any further details as to why the show won’t take place.
“Due to reasons beyond our control, Live Nation have been advised OneFour at 170 Russell can no longer take place,” said Live Nation, via triple j.
“All patrons will be contacted related to refunds which will be available directly via direct debit or point of purchase. Live Nation and OneFour apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
It’s not the first time OneFour have had a gig shut down. A scheduled gig in Sydney with London rapper Octavian was recently called off, allegedly due to pressure from NSW police.
Censorship and harassment from authorities have followed the Western Sydney act over the past few years, an experience not dissimilar to that of their drill rap counterparts in the UK and US.
