Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark Announce 2025 Australian Tour

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) have announced a national tour of Australia for February 2025. It will mark their first tour of Australia since the late 80s, where they toured the country with Crowded House over the 1986/87 new-year period. A full run of dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.

The Merseyside synth-pop band had previously been scheduled to return to Australia in 2020 as a support act for Simple Minds on their arena and winery tour. Due to the COVID pandemic, this was rescheduled to 2021 before being cancelled outright. “Finally, the wait is over,” said lead vocalist Andy McLuskey in a press statement regarding the tour.

“We have tried and tried to get back to Australia for nearly 40 years. We are so excited to be able to say that we are definitely going to play live again down under. We cannot wait! This is going to be so special. As it’s been such a long time since we were live in Australia, we will be playing every single one of our hits – and a few extra classics too.”

Anticipation for the duo’s return has already seen one of the announced shows – the date at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre – sell out solely on pre-sale tickets. Ahead of the tour going on general sale tomorrow (May 3rd), a second show at the Enmore has been announced.

Since OMD were last in Australia at the start of 1987, they have released a further seven studio albums – the most recent of which, Bauhaus Staircase, was released in 2023. Co-founding keyboardist Paul Humphreys left the band in 1989, leaving it as McLuskey’s solo project until its 1996 dissolution. A decade later, McLuskey and Humphreys reunited under the OMD banner and have been touring and recording together ever since.
