Masked and mysterious country artist Orville Peck will release his second album, Bronco, this April.
The album is being drip-fed to fans in three chapters before it arrives in full on Friday, 8th April. Chapter 1 is out now and consists of four tracks including the album’s first single, ‘C’mon Baby, Cry.’
‘C’mon Baby, Cry’ and the remaining Chapter 1 tracks – ‘Daytona Sand,’ ‘Outta Time’ and ‘Any Turn’ – are now available on streaming services. You can watch the music video for ‘C’mon Baby, Cry’ below.
“This is my most impassioned and authentic album to date,” said Peck in a statement. “I was inspired by country rock, ’60s and ’70s psychedelic, California, and even bluegrass with everything being anchored in country.
“Bronco is all about being unrestrained and the culmination of a year of touring, writing in isolation and going through and ultimately emerging from a challenging personal time.”
Bronco is coming out via Columbia Records, a big step up from Sub Pop, the indie label that released Peck’s 2019 debut, Pony. Columbia carries significance in the country music world for having released the bulk of Johnny Cash’s biggest albums. Peck’s contemporary Columbia label mates include The Kid LAROI, AC/DC, LIL NAS X and Adele (another recent Columbia signee).
Peck will be in Australia for Splendour in the Grass and sideshows. Find the dates below.
