Ozzy Osbourne has delighted his large legion of fans today, having given confirmation that his upcoming solo album is not only complete, it’s supposedly his best yet.
And it looks like we might have Post Malone to thank for all this. Speaking to The Sun, Osbourne said that it was working with the rapper after his health issues last year that inspired him to get back into recording his own music again.
“I’d never even heard of this kid,” Osbourne said, speaking about Malone.
“He wanted me to sing on his song ‘Take What You Want’, so I did and then one thing led to another. I started recording a new album with Post Malone’s producer Andrew Watt. It’s only nine tracks, but it was a catalyst to get me to where I am today.”
What’s even more amazing is that it was recorded in just four weeks. He said that because it’s been so long since his last record – 2010’s Scream – he is worried that he has fallen out of touch.
“Music goes straight online these days and that’s quicker than it takes me to write a text. It’s all about downloads and streaming now,” he said.
“What the fuck does that mean? What’s Spotify? I thought it was a skin problem where you woke up Spotified.”
Osbourne’s collaboration with Malone – ‘Take What You Want’ from Malone’s new album Hollywood’s Bleeding – sees Osbourne return to the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 after a three decade absence.
