London-based singer-songwriter-producer Paige Bea has just released her brand-new single, “Flutters.” This forms the title track and final preview to her three-track EP—also featuring previous singles “Worth It” and “Floods.”
Paige Bea shares the story behind “Flutters,” revealing that it all began during an online session back in July 2022. Her family lives on the outskirts of London, and at the time, she was stuck in the attic during the worst heatwave the city had ever seen, nursing the pain from a recent breakup. Bea wanted to see beyond her heartbreak, not allowing it to seep into her music. The emotions were far too raw, and when they sat down to start writing the song, it became too much. The project was shelved.

It wasn’t until nearly a year later, in the bedroom studio of Paige’s collaborator Gabe, in Berlin, that they opened the song again. They found that the final word of its tortured first verse was one of the most sticky elements in the entire track. And just like that, this forgotten song came back to life. Initially, they thought to separate the two parts into different tracks but then decided to combine them. Sure, for streaming, all the studies have shown that shorter songs do better, but the long build-up made the hook all the more gratifying.
Now, “Flutters” is available to stream, offering a glimpse into Paige Bea’s emotional journey and creative process. She promises to bring a heartfelt and captivating musical experience.
