After two years of Covid cancellations, Glastonbury will return to Worthy Farm and surrounds this June. Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar have been confirmed as the Saturday and Sunday night headliners, respectively. McCartney and Lamar were originally pencilled in for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary event in 2020, alongside Taylor Swift.
The festival, which is held in Pilton, UK, will take place from Wednesday, 22nd – Sunday, 26th June, 2022. It’s customary for Glastonbury to have three major headliners. Last October, organisers confirmed Billie Eilish would take over the Pyramid Stage on Friday night, making her the event’s youngest ever solo headliner.
In addition to Eilish, McCartney, Lamar and the previously-announced Diana Ross, Glastonbury’s 2022 lineup includes Little Simz, Crowded House, Megan Thee Stallion, Charli XCX, TLC (minus Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes), Olivia Rodrigo, Pet Shop Boys, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Sam Fender, Wolf Alice, Lorde, Doja Cat and loads more.
Amyl & the Sniffers, Sampa the Great, The Avalanches, Confidence Man and Courtney Barnett are among the Australian artists on the 2022 lineup. More acts are to be announced. Take a look at the event poster below.
Proceeds from Glastonbury 2022 will go towards Oxfam, WaterAid, Greenpeace and a variety of other causes, including the Red Cross Ukraine appeal.
