Earlier today, T In The Park organisers posted on the events official Facebook page that Pete Doherty would not be performing at this year’s festival, stating that he “has entered a facility to deal with pressing medical issues”.
Well I can’t say it’s a shock, but fans have taken to social networks to vent their frustration at the news.
The organisers’ statement read:
We’re sorry to announce that Peter Doherty will not be performing at T in the Park this year. Peter’s team have asked us to share this message with you:
“Peter is terribly upset not to be able to make this year’s T in the Park as it is always a great experience and one of his favourite events on the festival circuit. The decision that he couldn’t do it was not one taken lightly but the important reasons preventing his attendance this year are clear. Peter has entered a facility to deal with pressing medical issues. We hope you wish him well on this major step he has taken and wish T in the Park as successful an event as ever.”
The popular frontman is no stranger to rehab. His career, albeit successful, has been littered with instances of drug abuse.
