Pete Murray has announced a lengthy national tour in support of his newly announced sixth album Camacho and its lead single ‘Take Me Down’.
The Byron Bay singer-songwriter will release Camacho on 2nd June, before taking the album on the road for a 33-date tour of capital cities and regional areas between July and September.
Murray and his backing band will be performing new music for the very first time on the tour, including Murray’s new anthem ‘Take Me Down’.
“‘Take Me Down’ is about a beautiful relationship with an unknown future,” Murray says. “It’s about not knowing how much time is left and being in the moment. It’s emotive, moody, sexual and vulnerable.”
For Camacho, Murray collaborated with producer Trials (A.B. Original) to get a “phat drum sound” he was looking for.
“The thing I wanted to do different with this album was to take my time and get it right,” Murray says.
“So many times in the past I have jumped into a studio for four to six weeks and recorded an album. Once the recording time is over, so is the album. With Camacho there was no rush, it was going to be finished when it was finished.”
