If you’ve been online at all in the past couple of days, I’m sure you’re clued in on Brass Against and THAT pissing incident.
If not, let’s get you up to speed.
Over the weekend, frontwoman Sophia Urista of the band Brass Against – who are known for their horn-laden covers of songs by artists like Tool, Danzig and more – called a fan up on stage who then lay down, face-up. She pulled down her pants, and urinated onto the fans face. The band were in the middle of performing a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Wake Up’.
The video is VERY NSFW, but you can watch that below if that’s your thing.
Now, Messod Bendayan – a spokesperson for the Daytona Beach Police department – has confirmed that local police are investigating the incident, report The Daytona Beach News.
He said the investigation initially came about when someone messaged the police department’s official account about the incident. He directed them to file a report.
“I did get one like that and I told her to file a report and she did,” he said.
In the state of Florida, indecent exposure is a crime, which is punishable by up to a year in prison, or a $1000 fine.
The band issued a statement via Twitter the day after the event, saying “We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville.”
“Sophia got carried away. That’s not something the rest of us expected, and it’s not something you’ll see again at our shows.”
More on this story as it develops.
We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away. That's not something the rest of us expected, and it's not something you'll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona.
