After yesterday’s cheeky teaser, rock icons and 2017 Splendour In The Grass headliners Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a trio of Aussie headline shows for July this year.
The current iteration of QOTSA — that’s Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Jon Theodore and Michael Shuman — have locked in shows in Sydney and Melbourne, and they’re also set to perform in Darwin for the first time ever.
Promoters say no extra shows will be added to the band’s upcoming trip down under, which means fans in other capital cities will unfortunately miss out on all the QOTSA goodness. The shows’ support acts are still to be announced.
It’s been three years since Queens Of The Stone Age performed in Australia on a co-headline tour with Nine Inch Nails, and since then they’ve reportedly finished a new album, the follow-up to their 2013 record …Like Clockwork, which means they should have some new material to show off come July.
The band have also shared a new teaser image today, featuring the words “Coming TwentyFive”. Check it out, below.
