The Victorian Government has joined forces with Victoria Together to share The Long Weekender, a live stream event and a six-hour celebration of Victorian music that’s going down this coming Monday — the Queen’s Birthday public holiday.
National treasure, Myf Warhurst will host the virtual event where she’ll be sharing some of the finest festival sets from Victoria’s best.
The sets will come from festivals like Falls Festival, A Day on the Green, Meredith Music Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, and more.
And best of all, we’ll be hearing from some of the state’s finest. We’ll be watching sets from the likes of Courtney Barnett, Alex Lahey, The Cat Empire, Spiderbait, The Teskey Brothers, and heaps more.
“I’m so chuffed to be involved in the Long Weekender as it’s the festival we can all enjoy from home, at a time when we literally can’t go to a festival,” said Myf Warhurst.
“Not only is this the perfect way to support our much loved local musicians when they need it the most, Victorians will get a necessary dose of live music recorded at some of the biggest and best festivals in this state.
“It’s the perfect way to celebrate the immense talent we have here in Victoria AND get primed for a time when live music will once again be accessible to all, artist and fans alike.”
It’s a free digital event, but you’ll need to head to the Victoria Together website to register for a free ticket.
The live stream will go down on Monday, 14th June, kicking off at 12pm AEST. Catch the full lineup below.
