Red Hot Chili Peppers Request Organic Food And ‘Non-Alcoholic Beer’ For Big Day Out Rider

Red Hot Chili Peppers have gone exquisite (and non-boozy) with their rider requests for the Big Day Out tour, which starts in Sydney on Friday.

The Daily Telegraph has got hold of their rider list – and after giving it a bit of a looking-over, they’ve described the rider as one that “could pass as Gwyneth Paltrow’s shopping list”.

In terms of staying fresh, the band have requested a meditation room with plush carpet and comfortable couch, and Calvin Klein T-Shirts to slip into before and after the show.

When it comes to munchies, Anthony, Flea, Chad and Josh will be digging into goat cheese, soy milk, pitted dates, figs, raw unsalted cashews, yoghurt-covered peanuts, raisins, and malt balls.

To wash it all down, they’ve requested “non-alcoholic beer” and a slab of still-spring water – but not Evian, Crystal Geyser or other local bottled varieties.

Frontman Anthony Keidis is likely to have had a big say in the menu – he’s a proud vegan and has previously declared the band only eats organic food.

And if the rider isn’t adhered to, well, there’s a good chance Flea will be acting pretty similar to his moment of madness at the end of the Big Day Out announcement video, which you can check out below.
