It’s been a while between drinks, but Sydney’s beloved Imperial Hotel is set to reopen its doors just in time for Mardi Gras.
Erko’s LGBTQ+ party palace shut up shop in September of last year to undergo some rennos, following a rocky two years’ worth of forced closures and other run-ins with the law. But it’s now back with a thirsty vengeance, not to mention a face-lift, and will stage its official relaunch bash on the eve of Sydney’s Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
“It’s with absolute pleasure and insatiable delight that we officially announce the reopening of your beloved iconic jewel – The Imperial Hotel Erskineville,” reads a statement on the venue’s official Facebook page.
“We’re kicking things off on Friday 2nd March, with a dazzling line up of performance and DJ’s at the heart of our 3-day Mardi Gras party! Featuring Broken Hill’s Broken Heel Festival | Felicity Frockaccino | Farren Heit – drag queen | ALL SORTS – Blackout.”
The launch party will also feature a ‘Drag Xtravaganza’ and Priscilla Tribute Show.
Sounds like a sexy party if ever there was one.
Long live the Impy!
