The Trujillos are turning their family holiday into a full-blown heavy metal takeover of Australia.
First, Rob Trujillo rolls into town this October/November to slap bass with Metallica on their M72 stadium tour. His son Ty is also hitting local roads with Suicidal Tendencies, who are supporting Metallica and doing their own sold-out headline run. And now, Rob’s wife and Tye’s mum Chloe Trujillo — artist, vocalist and certified rock matriarch — has also locked in some live shows of her own with her project, rap-metal-gypsy-blues hybrid BLVD OF EYES.
BLVD OF EYES – ‘The Weight Of Gold Teeth’
BLVD OF EYES is fronted by Chloe, joined by bassist Mark Dalbeth (NZ represent!), guitarist Kevin Hicklin and *drum roll with blast beats* Chloe’s daughter Lullah Trujillo behind the kit.
Yep, it’s a mother-daughter metal team-up, making this trip down under a full family affair. With riffs.
Formed after a fateful meeting at an LA eco event, BLVD OF EYES evolved into a tight live unit with two EPs under their belt — and a third one dropping November 21st via Aussie label, XMusic.
BLVD OF EYES will hit Australia for two exclusive East Coast shows this November — and they’re bringing extra chaos with Nebraska glam rockers The Midnight Devils and a slew of local Aussie riffsters in tow under the title of HEAVYFEST.
The first show will take the form of a metal cruise on Sydney Harbour on Sunday, 23rd November with a stacked lineup featuring Frankie’s World Famous House Band, Awaken The Hate, and loads more.
While the second will go down at Brisbane’s Soapbox Beer on Saturday, 29th November, taking the form of a 12-hour rager in the Valley featuring Dreamkillers, PistonFist, Snake Bite Whisky and about a dozen more bands with names that will hurt your throat just saying them.
Peep all the details down below.
