The first annual Vegas Rocks! Hair Metal Awards took place at the Eastside Cannery Casino in Las Vegas over the weekend.
The unsurpassed highlight of the event was a collaborative effort by members of Testament, Motörhead and Quiet Riot to pay tribute to the late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. Chuck Billy and Alex Skolnick of Testament jointed former Quiet Riot member Rudy Sarzo and Motörhead’s Mikkey Dee to perform iconic track Ace Of Spades.
In terms of award winners on the night; Scorpions took home the “Classic Rock Outstanding Lifetime Achievement” award, whilst German metal icon Doro Pesch received the “Metal Goddess Award”. Other bands featured at the awards included Winger, Angel and Quiet Riot.
The awards also featured a special performance by Twisted Sister, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band this year.
