Port Macquarie’s favourite dysfunctional trio, Royal Chant, are warming up our winter by adding more dates to their Panic & Cash tour this June, in anticipation of the release of both their new EP Small Town Bruises and their Designer Mutts side-project debut EP, A Day At The Wauchope Races.
The eclectic trippers have been described as everything from heavy fuzz, gutter punk, alt-slackers, anti-folk and just plain noise. They’re having a rather bipolar year, basking in the glow from recent supports for Bob Mould, Bonjah and Dallas Frasca while dealing with the departure of founding member and drummer Matt Hoare. Nevertheless, remaining members Mark and James are continuing the panic and taking the tour around the East Coast over the next two months.
With a sympathetic musical friend taking over the drumming duties and a burning desire to catch up with all the friends they’ve made touring over the past 3 years on the road, Royal Chant will be hitting a venue near you very soon.
