The Streaming Service Behind Nick Cave & Kylie Mingoue’s Global Livestreams Has Launched In Australia

Driift, the livestream service behind the virtual events put on by Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue, have announced that they’ll be officially launching in Australia and New Zealand.

The UK company has had huge success this year, given regular concerts are off the cards, and now they’re making their first international expansion.

The move will be headed by Perth-based promoter Paul “Sloanie” Sloan, and is set to launch a string of shows by Australian and New Zealand artists throughout the coming weeks.

In this weird year I’ve been horrified by the amount of artists dropping their pants, literally and financially, by offering free, poorly produced livestreams in their underwear,” Sloan said in a press statement.

“What the industry needs now is another mechanism other than live  performance to ensure artists and all their connected industry partners can still  connect with fans and survive in a world where physical shows are just so uncertain and unreliable.”

While we don’t know any details of the acts yet to be announced as part of the expansion, Kylie Minogue’s Infinite Disco is set to happen this weekend.
