Sia has added another gorgeous performance to her collection of gems.
The Aussie songstress performed a stunning rendition of her track Bird Set Free on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday as part of the South by Southwest arts event.
A single dancer performed some strikingly modern choreography on stage while Sia stood still in her iconic wig and bow and blasted the song from the back of the stage.
This is not Sia’s first time performing on a US talk show, with this little number with Natalie Portman, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots also having aired recently.
Bird Set Free was the first single from Sia’s seventh album, This Is Acting, which was released in January. As told by Rolling Stone, the track was originally written for the movie Pitch Perfect 2, then sent to Rihanna and Adele, who all rejected it.
Sia said of the rejection by Hollywood: “I could not believe they rejected Bird Set Free because to me it was such a big, anthemic, fun, sing-along-in-the-car song. I felt seller’s remorse. I had grief. I feel connected to that song.”
And nothing shows that connection more than a committed performance like the one below.
