Global pop phenomenon Sia will be making another foray into the world of animation when she plays pony pop star Songbird Serenade in the upcoming film My Little Pony: The Movie, because if anyone could play the part of a singing magical pony, it’s Sia.
Hitting theatres next October with a huge cast of other voice talent including Taye Diggs, Emily Blunt, Uzo Aduba and more, My Little Pony: The Movie is also set to receive some Sia tunes for its official soundtrack, as the singer is reportedly contributing two original songs.
With Songbird Serenade seemingly based on Sia herself — the pony pop icon sporting Sia’s trademark black and blond wig — fans of both her music and My Little Pony are surely overjoyed at this amazing meeting of movies and music. This is yet another big step into film and animation for Sia, following on from being featured in the Finding Dory soundtrack, to which she contributed vocals on a cover of Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable.
