Skegss Announce New Album ‘Rehearsal’, Drop New Single ‘Valhalla’

Byron Bay trio Skegss have officially kicked back into gear today, with the announcement of their anticipated, forthcoming second album Rehearsal.

Along with the announcement of the album, the band have also unveiled the latest single from it, ‘Valhalla’. It marks the fourth song we’ve heard from Rehearsal, following ‘Wake Up’, ‘Fantasising’ and ‘Under The Thunder’.

“I learnt more about Valhalla through watching ‘The Last Kingdom’ and it got me brainstorming about the ideology of it, and thought how sometimes in our life we have moments that are pretty perfectas perfect as what you’d want the idea of your own nirvana to be,” vocalist Ben Reed said of the song in a press release.

“Like when you’re having beers with your friends, having big cook ups that are real fun to share. ‘Valhalla’ was based on those experiences, but it’s also kind of cryptically about flying under the radar and avoiding getting into any kind of trouble, and staying healthy enough to keep having those times as you get older throughout your life.”

Rehearsal is set for release on Friday, 26th March. Watch the Viking-inspired video for ‘Valhalla’ below.
