Almost two weeks after announcing a Melbourne headline show, US three-piece Sleater-Kinney now have more cities to love after announcing a string of Australian dates across Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney.
SK were last here for the Big Day Out in 2006. When they hit local venues next year, they’ll be packing the full touring show they’ve been using to perform their latest album, January’s No Cities To Love, as well as their super-influential back-catalogue, stretching back to the final phases of the riot grrrl scene.
Sleater-Kinney’s new Aussie dates are taking place just before their appearance at Meredith’s Golden Plains Festival in March, and have been announced on the very same day that the band’s very own Carrie Brownstein (also of Portlandia fame) releases her memoir, Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl, which details some of the band’s lengthy touring history.
