Slipknot’s Mick Thomson Charged Over Stabbing Fight With Brother

Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson has been charged by Iowa police following a fight with his brother earlier this month in which Thomson was stabbed in the head. The brothers were taken to hospital after the incident with non-life threatening injuries.

Reports USA Today, Clive Police Department Chief Michael Venema said an investigation found both 41-year-old Thomson and his brother, 35-year-old Andrew Thomson, were responsible for the March 11th altercation.

Police say the fight initially broke out in Mick Thomson’s home, but became physical when it moved outside. There Mick Thomson sustained a stab wound to the back of his head. Both men have been charged with disorderly conduct by fighting and are scheduled to appear in court on March 30th.

Following initial reports pf the stabbing, Slipknot’s lead-singer Corey Taylor quickly told fans on Twitter that we was “doing the best I can to find out” how the Slipknot guitarist was. He followed up shortly after, tweeting, “Mick Update: from what I’ve heard he’s okay. We’re sendig him all your thoughts. Thank you for that.”

Slipknot were just in Australia headlining Soundwave Festival 2015 in support of their 2014 album .5: The Gray Chapter.
