Following yesterday’s sad news that dream pop five piece Snakadaktal are no more, the Melbourne-based outfit have today announced a very special one-off farewell show, giving fans a final chance to see the band perform live.
The gig is scheduled to take place at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Saturday, 29th March, with support from electronic quartet City Calm Down, as well as Alan Palano. Snakadaktal came to prominence after winning triplej’s Unearthed High competition in 2011, achieving success with their singles Dance Bear and Air and releasing their debut album Sleep In The Water last year.
The outfit, who had been performing together since they were 15, yesterday released a statement citing a desire to move onto different pursuits as the cause of the split, saying, “Our goal has always been to create music that exists timelessly. We hope that what we have released will accompany you and be there for as long as you need it.”
Tickets for the farewell show are on sale via the Northcote Social Club website.
