The Dogg Father is coming. Snoop Dogg has just announced his first Australian tour in more than eight years. And it’s a whopper.
Snoop’s ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ tour will land in Australia in October 2022. The Californian hip hop elite will hit indoor arena venues in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Snoop’s last visit to Australia was in January 2014, where he participated in the final ever Big Day Out festival tour.
The upcoming tour shares its name with the Long Beach rapper’s 17th studio album, I Wanna Thank Me, released in 2019. The title track was released as a single and features vocals from Marknoxx. It also contains a sample of Dr. Dre’s ‘The Next Episode’, on which Snoop himself featured in 1999.
The tour begins in Perth at the RAC Arena Wednesday, 26th October. It’ll then roll through to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Friday, 28th October, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, 29th October and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, 1st November.
I Wanna Thank Me is also the name of a documentary film released in 2019 in celebration of 25 years of Snoop Dogg. The three part film can be found on Snoop’s YouTube channel.
