Western Australia’s Southbound Festival has outlined how its ticket refunds will work following the cancellation of its 2016 event due to bushfires.
Southbound organisers say ticket refunds will begin on Monday, 18th January 2016, but won’t happen in the same way for all ticket-holders.
Those who purchased tickets online or over the phone through Moshtix will see refunds placed back in their accounts within three to five business days. If the refund fails, Moshtix will get in contact with you to sort it out.
Those who purchased tickets through a Moshtix retail outlet will need to return to the outlet with the ticket(s) to process the refund. Industry tickets will need to be returned to the person who bought them, who can then get a refund. The Moshtix customer service team can be contacted through the Moshtix website.
Southbound and Moshtix are also giving Southbound 2016 ticket-holders the chance to donate either their ticket refund or another amount to help out the communities and families involved in the recent WA bushfires which caused the festival’s cancellation.
From Monday, 18th January, the Southbound Fire Fundraiser Donations Page will be live, and it’s where ticket-holders can decide to make a donation. All proceeds are going to the ‘Lord Mayors Distress Relief Fund – Waroona and Districts Fire Relief Appeal 2016’.
Harley Evans, CEO of The Ticket Group (which includes Moshtix), says, “We’re working as quickly as possible to process Southbound ticket refunds as we understand they can be put towards very worthy causes over in WA.
“So many people and their families have been devastated by these fires and our hearts go out to them all.”
Punters can also contribute to charity efforts by taking part in Southbound’s silent auction, which has signed items from the likes of Bloc Party, Disclosure and Birds of Tokyo, or by purchasing Southbound merchandise through Love Police.
