Spectrum Now has unveiled the plans for its 2016 Opening Night event, dropping an impressive lineup.
The 2016 festival will launch with a free all-ages show at The Big Top on Thursday 3rd March, featuring electronic maestros Hayden James, Wave Racer and Paces.
It caps off a cavalcade of other exciting additions to the marathon festival’s full 16-day program, with a selection of top-notch artists and nightly house bands also added to the bill.
Locals Joyride, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Dustin Tebbutt and Montaigne will be taking to the Big Top stage alongside Missy Higgins, Hot Dub Time Machine, The Jesus & Mary Chain (UK), Birds Of Tokyo, recent additions Something For Kate and loads more as part of the festival’s ticketed music program.
While Spectrum Now Music Ambassador Megan Washington and legendary Australian singer-songwriter Richard Clapton have just been revealed as two of four surprise guests who’ll be participating in the Rockwiz Live and expanded RocKwiz Orkestra, featuring the Vika and Linda Bull show.
An assortment of house bands will be gracing the festival’s second stage of entertainment, with performances from Vulgargrad, Malo Malo, Lyre Byrdland and the Hi-Tops Brass Band in addition to cover bands The Pigs and Furnace and the Fundamentals all on the cards.
Not to mention there’s tonnes more entertainment on the way as well, with David Campbell and Tom Sharah hosting a giant Broadway sing-a-long extravaganza, celebrity mates Ben Mingay, Mitchell Butel, Erin Clare and Hilary Cole gathering around the piano for the Marie’s Crises pop-up courtesy of the Hayes Theatre Co, plus latin dance & hip-hop classes for punters and stacks more.
Spectrum Now organisers have also revealed the selection of tasty food and drink on offer throughout the festival.
