How often are you guaranteed that a band is going to play all the hits when you turn up to a gig? If you’re a Spiderbait fan, you’re in luck, because the band have announced a special one-off “singles” show in Melbourne, coinciding with the release of Singles, a new limited-edition 7″ vinyl box set.
The veteran Australian band will perform every one of their singles in chronological order for the first time at The Forum in Melbourne on Saturday, 9th November, with everything from ‘Calypso’ and ‘Stevie’ to ‘Black Betty’ and ‘Buy Me A Pony’ included in the setlist.
“It’s been great to look back at these singles,” says drummer and vocalist Kram. “They are like a diary of our lives, bringing back memories from all the time we’ve been playing together. The same three country kids who formed a band for fun and ended up having this fucked up, brilliant, unexpected adventure. So to all our fans, come celebrate with us at the Forum in November, it will be a special night.”
Singles, the brand new 7″ vinyl box set, will be available for purchase exclusively at the show and as a pre-order ticket & vinyl bundle. Complete with original mixes and artwork, it includes 11 of the band’s singles across their three decade-long career, along with ‘Old Man Sam’, which, although never officially a released as a single, the trio count as their first major hit.
Tickets for ‘The Singles’ show in Melbourne go on sale next Thursday, 11th July at 9am through Ticketmaster.
