ORIGINAL STORY: It’s Splendour In The Grass ticket sales week, which means thousands of keen festival-goers are preparing to fight it out online for the chance to purchase passes to the annual Byron Bay event.

Boasting an impressive lineup headlined by Kendrick Lamar, Lorde and Vampire Weekend, Splendour 2018 is bound to sell out, leaving many disappointed faces in the process.

However, there are a bunch of things you can do to give yourself the best chance of scoring Splendour tix (if you weren’t one of the lucky locals who nabbed them early).

Without further ado, here are some things you need to know before you buy, so that you don’t have to rely on luck…

Get Prepped By Getting To Know The Official Ticket Outlet

Moshtix is the official and exclusive ticketing outlet for Splendour In The Grass, and you can purchase tickets through their website, or by calling 1300 GET TIX (438 849) when they go on sale.

If you already have a Moshtix account, make sure all your account details are correct. If you haven’t got one, make one!

Splendour organisers have already told ticket-buyers, “Do not buy from anywhere else, as all tickets need to have your name and date of birth on them to enter — this stops scammers.”

So make sure you’ve got the correct name, date of birth, email address and mobile number for everyone you’re buying tickets for — you’ll need it.

The ‘Previous Year Purchaser’ (PYP) Pre-Sale

If you purchased tickets to Splendour 2017 or registered as an attendee, you can take part in the PYP pre-sale, which runs between 9am and 5pm AEST on Tuesday, 17th April, or until the PYP allocation of tickets are sold.

The Pre-Sale

If you didn’t get tickets in the PYP pre-sale, the Visa Checkout pre-sale for Visa customers begins at 9am AEST on Wednesday, 18th April. You can find more details on that sale right here.

The General Sale

Tickets will go on sale to the general public through Moshtix at 9am AEST on Thursday, 19th April, which is when the servers (and your fellow festival-goers) will be working overtime.

Tickets will be in high demand, so you’ll probably have to wait in the Moshtix Greenroom first, before being pushed through the queue to the ticket sales page.

Ticket Prices

There are two separate types of tickets at Splendour: Event Tickets and Camping Tickets. To camp onsite, you’ll need to purchase both an Event Ticket and a separate Camping Ticket. The Camping Ticket does not allow entry to the festival, and the Event Ticket does not allow entry to the campgrounds.

Here are the prices for each category of ticket:

Event Tickets:

3 Day Ticket (Friday to Sunday, including Thursday access): $399 per person + fees (inc. booking fees & cc charges)

1 Day Ticket (Friday or Saturday or Sunday): $179 per person + fees (inc. booking fees & cc charges) — Check out the festival’s day-by-day lineups to help you decide which day you’d like to attend.

Camping Tickets:

5 Nights (Wednesday to Monday): $129 per person + fees (inc. booking fees & cc charges)

The Resale

If you missed out on tickets, don’t fret. Splendour will be opening an online ticket resale facility at 9am AEST on Monday, 14th May via Moshtix, giving ticket-holders who can’t attend the festival a chance to sell their tickets onto those who want them. Catch all the details right here.
