Stereophonics have declared that they will include Australia in the world tour for their new album Graffiti on the Train.
Band member Richard Jones told Noise11 that the Welsh rockers are hoping to visit our shores in late April or early May, with dates to be announced pretty soon.
“We are doing the UK and Europe in March and April and hopefully we will get to Australia and Asia in late April, early May. So you should see us in Australia soon,” he said.
Stereophonics first formed in 1992 – and Graffiti on the Train will be their eighth studio album. It was recorded at the band’s own studio, which they built after they finished touring for their last album – Keep Calm and Carry On – in 2010.
Graffiti on the Train will be released next month through Warner Music.
Earlier this week, Stereophonics dropped into the studios of BBC Radio 2 to do a cover of The Beatles’ track I Saw Her Standing There. They were getting in the mood to join a gathering of musicians aiming to re-record the Beatles’ debut album Please Please Me at Abbey Road studios in London. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the original recording session. Check out the video here.
