Sunk Loto Tease New Music + Announce Intimate 2026 Aussie Shows

Strap in, because Gold Coast heavy royalty Sunk Loto are back on their bullshit – and they’re bringing fresh tunes with them.

After lighting the fuse on their long-awaited comeback in 2022 (and promptly selling out tours like they’d never left), the early-2000s alt-metal icons have just announced a run of intimate headline shows this August… alongside news of a brand new single, Dead Shadows, landing May 8.

Sunk Loto – ‘Sunken Eyes’

Yep. New Sunk Loto. In this economy.

For the uninitiated (or the freshly converted), Sunk Loto were that band in the Aussie heavy scene’s formative years – sitting comfortably in the same sonic orbit as Korn, Deftones and Sevendust and helping define an era where riffs were chunky, feelings were loud, and everyone owned at least one wallet chain.

Then, in true rock’n’roll fashion, they vanished in 2007. Fifteen years. Gone.

Until they weren’t.

Their 2022 return hit like a freight train, with sold-out shows proving the appetite was very much still there – both from OG fans and a new wave of heavy disciples. And if 2023’s comeback track The Gallows Wait was anything to go by, the band haven’t lost a single ounce of bite.

Now, with Dead Shadows coming in hot (and their first music video since 2003 dropping alongside it – shoutout rising director Colin Jeffs), Sunk Loto are officially entering their next chapter… and they’re doing it properly.

“We’re going to be playing a spread of old and new, songs we haven’t played live in years, our new single and more from the forthcoming release. We can’t wait, see you there!”

Even better? These shows are set to be sweaty, up-close-and-personal affairs – no barriers, no frills, just pure chaos in some of the country’s most beloved rooms.
