UPDATE: Jet Announce 2018 ‘Get Re-Born’ 15th Anniversary National Tour
ORIGINAL STORY: Aussie rockers Jet have revealed they’re pulling an Ed Sheeran, and will be playing a free show in a Melbourne laneway today ahead of an upcoming national tour announcement.
Melbourne’s AC/DC Lane will host the 60-minute surprise show from 1pm today, 13th March, and fans are being encouraged to head along to hear details of the band’s big news.
According to Melbourne venue Cherry Bar, which sits on AC/DC Lane, frontman Nic Cester and company are preparing to announced a national tour to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut album Get Born, which dropped in 2003.
Jet disbanded in 2012, but reformed in 2016, before playing their first show in over six years and releasing a bizarre new song with The Bloody Beetroots.
The group’s latest album, Shaka Rock, dropped in 2009, and Cester has since released his debut solo album Sugar Rush.
