After 16 long years, Oasis are officially back. The Britpop legends have just played their first reunion show in Cardiff, UK, kicking off their historic Live 25 world tour.
The Gallagher brothers took over Principality Stadium on July 4th with a two-hour set packed full of no less than 24 classics. And with their long-awaited (and SOLD OUT) Aussie stadium shows just around the corner this October/November, consider this your sneak peek at what’s heading our way.
Oasis Play ‘Wonderwall’ Live In Cardiff, 2025
First up, if you’ve been hoping for a nostalgia-heavy set stacked with Definitely Maybe and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? anthems — you’re in luck. Fans in Cardiff copped ‘Supersonic’, ‘Morning Glory’, ‘Live Forever’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Champagne Supernova’, and more.
Also making the cut were 90s bangers like ‘Whatever’, ‘The Masterplan’, ‘Acquiesce’ and a couple of deep cuts from Be Here Now (‘D’You Know What I Mean?’ and ‘Stand By Me’).
The current Oasis lineup includes both Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, as well as OG member Bonehead and longtime Oasis associates Gem Archer and Andy Bell. The band’s now-legendary drummer rotation continues with Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.) behind the kit, and a full brass and backing vocal section for appropriately stadium-sized backing.
Liam and Noel took the stage holding hands and shared a brief hug at the end of the set, but apparently didn’t interact much during the show itself.
Oasis are set to hit local stadiums in Sydney and Melbourne this spring for the first time since their last Aussie run, all the way back in 2005.
It’s been almost 20 years, but judging by night one, they’re making up for lost time — and if you’ve been lucky enough to cop tix, prepare yourself for a career-spanning, beer-raising, crowd-belting singalong of blockbuster proportions.
