Sydney DJ Paul Holden Has Died After A Fall

One of Sydney’s staple DJs Paul Holden has died after a fatal fall at his home.

As Fairfax reports, the DJ, who rose to prominence with rave events in the ’80s and ’90s, slipped and fell at his home.

Tributes are flowing in for Holden who was a seminal part of Sydney dance culture with events like Jack The House, Field Of Dreams, Stun! plus rave events at the Hordern Pavilion like Bacchanalia and Sleaze Ball. He’d been working as a DJ for almost four decades.

Friend and fellow DJ Mark Dynamix has taken to his Facebook to write, “R.I.P Paul Holden, my dear friend. I will miss you greatly.”

Robbie Lowe, another iconic Sydney DJ, has also expressed his grief on Facebook saying, “This guy brought so much joy to so many lives with his music, love and infectious personality.”

“Everyone would always be smiling from ear to ear when Paul was playing. He was so infectious. I got to play alongside him for the first time ever a couple months ago and I’m so grateful for this.”

Fans have already started a memorial page on Facebook celebrating the life of Holden using #alwayssmiling while posting flashback photos.

You can hear one of his sets below from the ’90s.
