In some ripper news for Sydney’s live music culture, the city has just copped a brand new weekly club night celebrating the best in indie music, and this week’s instalment is gearing up to be the biggest one yet.
Introducing Club 505: a celebration of all things indie-rock and alt-pop that’s started soundtracking Saturday nights at Darlinghurst’s Burdekin Hotel with tunes from the likes of Ball Park Music, Bloc Party, The Strokes, Remi Wolf, Florence + The Machine and more. And this weekend on Saturday 11th May, UK indie megastars The Vaccines will be dropping in to host their official Sydney show afterparty and jump behind the decks for a special guest DJ set.
The Vaccines – ‘Lunar Eclipse’
The Vaccines’ bassist Arni will be in the house spinning tunes from the band’s new album Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations, as well as classics like ‘If You Wanna’, ‘I Always Knew’ and ‘Norgaard’ and a fat stack of other indie disco bangers and UK sounds at Club 505, kicking on after the band’s co-headliner with Everything Everything at the UNSW Roundhouse.
Getting the indie party started at 10.30pm every Saturday, the weekly bash is free if you RSVP to the VIP Guestlist or will cost you $15 on the door. It’s also open to punters aged over 18+ and has a strict “no dickheads” policy.
You can keep up with all the latest events and info via Club 505’s official website right here.
