Taylor Swift Brisbane Stage Collapse Prompts Ticket Refunds

Taylor Swift fans standing in the pit area of Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium had their views temporarily interrupted at the Saturday concert when a part of the podium they were standing on suddenly collapsed.

Those fans, who had forked out a decent amount of pocket money to see the Grammy-winning singer on The Red Tour, were quickly rushed to a new location while the stage lights at Suncorp Stadium went entirely dark. Said the ever-jovial Swift to the crowd, “I’m going to come back out and sing for you and we’re going to pretend this never happened. Love you Brisbane.”

Promoters of Swift’s Australian shows, Frontier Touring, said the fans were quickly relocated to another area of Suncorp Stadium. “This affected less than 1% of the fans in attendance, and they were moved within the venue,” Frontier said in a statement. “Safety of Taylor’s fans is considered paramount, and once all fans’ safety was ensured, the show continued.” All affected ticket holders have been offered a full refund through Ticketek.

Taylor Swift also awarded her Brisbane audience by sharing the news her album Red had been nominated for a Grammy, before the official nominations had been announced. Taylor Swift is up for Album Of The Year and Best Country Album.
