There’s something so bloody beautiful about life imitating art, and there’s something even more poetic when that imitation comes full circle. Enter Ned Flanders-themed metal band, Okilly Dokilly, who recently had one of their songs played during an episode of The Simpsons, thus making the world right once again.
According to Consequence of Sound, during the credits scene of a recent episode, a portion of the video for the band’s viral single ‘White Wine Spritzer’, taken from their debut album Howdilly Doodilly, was played.
“Myself and everyone involved with Okilly Dokilly are so very honored,” said the band’s frontman, Head Ned, in a statement.
“The fact that the ‘White Wine Spritzer’ video appeared on an episode of The Simpsons is still unreal to us. We are very excited and beyond humbled to have been a part of the show’s legacy.”
“We saw the video and knew they had to be on the show,” said Al Jean, the show’s executive producer.
He also added “We do not endorse their message of indiscriminate drinking of white wine spritzers.” Thank God.
Okilly Dokilly just released their second album, Howdilly Doodilly.
