The Black Keys New Album Expected To Be Finished By March, 2013

The Black Keys have already turned their thoughts to a follow-up to 2011’s El Camino and it looks as though it will happen sooner rather than later. As reported by NME, the duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney hope to finish what will be their eighth studio album by March, and release it later in 2013.

“We’re going to start making the new album in the second week of January and we’re hoping to have it done by some time in March,” Auerbach told Uncut, according to NME.

“Then we have a couple of weeks of touring, then we’re going to take the summer off, which we haven’t done for a while. The record isn’t written yet, we’ll do it when we get into the studio. This is when we both work best, when we’re dying to make an album. All of our records take place in the studio, in that we make stuff up while we’re there,” Auerbach added.

Back in October Carney told CBS Local that an album from The Black Keys would definitely be released in 2013.

“It [an album] is definitely gonna happen in 2013. It’s just a matter of how long it takes us to make the album and deciding when we want to get back on the road,” confirmed Carney.
